What we collect

Forage stores food logs, fiber amounts, stool notes, daily check-ins, onboarding answers, notification preferences, and subscription status — all on your device. No account is required.

Local-first storage

Your journal lives in SQLite and local storage on your iPhone. We do not upload your logs, notes, or profile to any server. You can export your data as a CSV or delete everything from the Settings screen at any time.

Third-party services

Forage uses a small number of external services:

RevenueCat — manages subscription and purchase status.
Apple App Store — processes payments and in-app purchases.
Open Food Facts — provides nutrition data for barcode lookups. Barcodes are sent to their API only when you scan a product.
Apple — delivers local notifications and, if you opt in, the App Store review prompt.

Notifications

Forage can send local reminders for logging and streak protection. These are scheduled on-device. No notification content is transmitted externally.

Children

Forage is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.
